Makes 2 Quarts

Try this spicy kraut recipe; great as a Mexican
tortilla topping, or as a zesty side salad.

Napa cabbage 3 lbs. shredded
gingerroot 2 Tbs. grated
scallions 2 c. slant slices
carrots 2 c. chopped
garlic 2 Tbs. chopped
red pepper flakes 1 tsp. or to taste
nutmeg 1 tsp.  
allspice 1 tsp. ground
peppercorns 8 cracked
mustard, dry 4 tsp.  

1 Combine vegetables in a large mixing bowl. Mix in the spices.
