Try this spicy kraut recipe; great as a Mexican
tortilla topping, or as a zesty side salad.

| Napa cabbage | 3 lbs. | shredded |
| gingerroot | 2 Tbs. | grated |
| scallions | 2 c. | slant slices |
| carrots | 2 c. | chopped |
| garlic | 2 Tbs. | chopped |
| red pepper flakes | 1 tsp. | or to taste |
| nutmeg | 1 tsp. | |
| allspice | 1 tsp. | ground |
| peppercorns | 8 | cracked |
| mustard, dry | 4 tsp. |
1 Combine vegetables in a large mixing bowl. Mix in the spices.
